Mr. Ajekigbe is currently the Chairman of Friesland Campina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, and until very recently also the Chairman of Keystone Bank Plc.
He served as the Managing Director/CEO of First Bank of Nigeria Plc from 2002-2008. He has had over three decades of banking experience across different areas, including agricultural financing, branch banking, corporate & retail, and general management.
A Fellow of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative, Mr. Ajekigbe, was previously the Director and Chairman of FBN (Merchant Bankers) Limited and Kakawa Discount House Limited. He was also a Director on the Boards of several other companies, including First Pension Custodian Limited, FBN Bank (UK) Limited, VMobile Nigeria Limited (now Airtel), and Transcorp Plc.
Mr. Ajekigbe holds a B.Sc. Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan, Certificate in Investment Planning & Appraisal from the University of Bradford, UK, Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lagos, and M.A. in Global Affairs from the University of Buckingham, UK in 2010. He has attended several post-experience programs and courses in Nigeria and overseas.
He is the Chairman of Gamaniel & Suzan Onosode Foundation (GAMSU) – a private social initiative that is making generous contributions to the development of education in Nigeria.
Mr. Ajekigbe is a well-regarded and highly respected resource personality in Corporate Governance and Ethics.
